Where the wild things are

Sendak, M. (1963). Where the wild things are. NY: HarperCollins.

Max, a strong and mischievous boy goes where the wild things are after his mother get after him and sends him to his room without dinner.  After feeling it took months, he returns from where the wild things are and hi dinner was still hot.
Sendak’s illustrations start at a normal size until the images are larger than life and expand into a two page spread to demonstrate the wild things frantic behavior.
